Biosketch

Arleen Tuchman holds the Nelson O. Tyrone Jr. Chair in History at Vanderbilt University. Her recent book, Diabetes: A History of Race and Disease (2020), traces the radical shift over the course of a century in stereotypes about the populations labeled most at risk of developing diabetes. Tuchman has held fellowships from the National Institutes of Health, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National Science Foundation.
